Every week, another AI company announces a healthcare product that promises to automate clinical decisions, replace care coordinators, or operate autonomously within the most regulated industry in the economy. Every week, the people who actually work in healthcare — the administrators, the compliance officers, the clinicians — look at these announcements with a mixture of skepticism and concern. They are right to be skeptical. They are right to be concerned.
The Autonomy Problem

This is not a barrier to entry for AI vendors who build correctly. It is a moat. The vendors who treat compliance as an afterthought will be blocked from enterprise procurement. The vendors who build compliance into the architecture from the beginning will have a durable competitive advantage.
